Application Scope of Steel Structure
At present, steel structures are often used in large-span, super-high, over-weight, vibration, airtight, high-rise, space and light-weight engineering structures. Their application scope is roughly as follows:
Heavy-duty workshop structure. Workshops with medium and heavy duty overhead cranes, such as steelmaking workshop, rolling workshop, steel casting workshop, hydraulic press workshop, hull workshop, hot working workshop and other heavy workshops, are equipped with load-bearing skeleton and overhead crane.hange qualitatively.
Long-span structure. Large-span steel structures with light weight and high strength, such as assembly workshop, hangar, gymnasium, hall, theatre, exhibition hall, etc., are mostly used in public and industrial buildings requiring large space, and steel grid, arch, suspension and frame systems are mostly used.
High-rise and super-high-rise buildings. High-rise and super-high-rise buildings mostly adopt steel frame structure system to speed up construction and improve seismic performance.
Towering structures. Mainly withstanding wind loads, such as high-voltage transmission line tower, Petrochemical exhaust tower, television tower, environmental meteorological monitoring tower, radio mast and so on adopt tower mast steel structure.
Containers, tanks and pipes. Large oil depot, gas tank, painting bin, hopper, large diameter gas pipe, oil pipeline, etc. adopt plate steel structure to ensure durability and non-leakage under pressure.
Removable structures. For example, multi-purpose bolts and fasteners for mobile exhibition halls, assembly movable houses, etc.
Other structures. For example, the skeleton of blast furnace, hot blast stove and boiler, Long-span Railway and highway bridges, hydraulic gates, lifting masts, transportation corridors, pipeline supports and offshore oil production platforms, etc., are generally made of steel structure.
